How do I start trading on the Tokinvest investor platform?
Before you can trade, you must complete identity verification (KYC) and deposit funds into your account with us via the ‘Deposit’ feature on the platform.
We currently accept fiat AED via bank transfer to our account with Zand Bank, other major currencies and stablecoins will be added in the near future. Tokinvest does not charge fees for deposits or withdrawals of fiat, however your bank and any intermediary may do.
All of the information required to deposit to your Tokinvest investor account is available on-screen and we ask that you please include the deposit reference provided when arranging your transfer to allow us to quickly identify and allocate your funds when they are received.
Once your wallet is funded, you can browse our available tokenised assets and purchase tokens.
Where do I find information about the token being offered?
Details of the offering can be found in the information section of the offering on the investor platform, however for a comprehensive overview please refer to the VARA approved whitepaper that is stored in the documents section of the offering on the Investor portal.
Investors should read and fully understand the information detailed within the whitepaper before purchasing tokens.
How do I buy tokens?
All available tokens are listed on the main offerings page of the Tokinvest investor portal. Clicking on an offering takes you into the detail page which provides all of the information about the asset including price and token availability. Click on the green button to purchase tokens directly or subscribe to an offering.
Once your purchase has been confirmed your fiat account will be debited for the cost of the tokens and related fees and commissions and you will be able to view your updated account balance and token balance in the dashboard section of the portal.
What is the difference between tokens available for direct purchase and tokens available for subscription?
Direct purchase: You can purchase available tokens up to the value of the credit balance on your account (including fees and commissions) immediately at the current offering price, subject to availability. Your tokens will show as purchased in the Closed Transactions section of the Investor Dashboard once purchased. Token settlement on the blockchain occurs within two business days of the transaction.
Subscription: You commit funds to an upcoming issuance and confirm your allocation in advance. Your subscription will immediately show in the Open Orders section of the Investor Dashboard. Tokens are allocated to you once the offering closes and settlement occurs. For some offerings where oversubscription is permitted an allocation algorithm may be employed. Please see the dedicated whitepaper for the individual offering for further information on this.
Are my deposits held in segregated custody?
Yes. Fiat deposits are held in segregated client accounts with our licensed and regulated banking partners.
Where are my tokens held and can I self-custody?
Your tokens and any other digital assets (including stablecoins) are held in segregated wallets with VARA regulated digital asset custody solutions with institutional-grade security.
At this time, to meet the strict regulatory requirements as a VARA licensed broker-dealer and issuer, Tokinvest manages the custody of your digital assets at all times. In the future it may be possible to transfer some individual tokens outside of our custody.
How is pricing determined for token purchases of primary issuances?
For immediate purchases, the price per token is fixed at the current offering rate displayed on the platform.
For subscriptions, the price is confirmed when you commit to buy tokens and will not change over the subscription period. Your allocation will be settled at this price.
Can I sell or redeem my tokens after purchase?
This depends on the specific asset:
Some tokens are not redeemable and will expire on a fixed date or exist in perpetuity. Others may be redeemable directly with the issuer (subject to redemption terms).
Issued tokens may be tradeable on a secondary market subject to available liquidity.
Full details of redemption terms for each offering are provided in their individual whitepaper.
What happens if a subscription is not fully allocated and fails to complete?
If all tokens in a subscription offering are not fully allocated by the end of the subscription period then the offering may be withdrawn by the issuer. In this situation your funds (including any fees and commissions) will be automatically returned in full to your platform wallet and remain available for future investments or withdrawal to your bank.
Are there minimum investment amounts?
Yes. Each offering has a minimum investment amount and this may vary by offering. These amounts are clearly displayed before you confirm an order on the platform and are also detailed in the offering whitepaper.
How long does it take for my funds to be available for trading?
Domestic (UAE) fiat deposits: typically 1 business day, depending on your bank.
International (outside of UAE) fiat deposits: typically 1-3 business day, depending on your and any intermediary bank.
Stablecoin deposits (when available): usually within minutes, subject to blockchain confirmations.
How do I receive any distributions that are due to tokens that I hold?
Tokenomics, including timings and calculations of distributions (where applicable) are detailed in the whitepaper for each individual offering. When a distribution is made by the issuer of a token, the funds are received into the Tokinvest client money account and automatically credited to your balance held with us within two working days. Once credited these funds are immediately available for you to invest or withdraw as you choose.
Are there fees for trading?
Yes. The platform applies transaction fees and commissions which are disclosed during the token purchase/subscription process prior to order confirmation and completion. Additional fees may apply for currency conversion, custody, or redemption depending on the asset type.
All fees are pre-determined and clearly detailed in the offering whitepaper.
